Everyone knows turmeric (haldi) is very healthy but its nature is hot (garam taseer). It is very good for immunity, joint pain and detox, especially in winters. But because it is hot in nature, I cannot drink it alone.
That is why I add fennel seeds with it. Fennel seeds have a cooling nature (thandi taseer). It balances the heat of turmeric and keeps the stomach cool. This combination makes it perfect.
Here are 5 benefits I felt in winters after drinking this for many years:

1. Best For Winter Season
In winters, our body needs warmth from inside. A pinch of turmeric in warm water keeps the body warm, protects from cold and cough, and gives energy in cold mornings. I feel less lazy in winter.
2. Balances Hot Nature
I use fennel seeds specially because turmeric is hot in nature. Fennel is cool and it balances the effect. So I get all the benefits of turmeric without feeling extra heat or acidity. My stomach stays calm.
3. Good For Digestion and Gas
Fennel is famous for digestion. Half teaspoon of fennel prevents gas, bloating and heaviness which we often feel in winters because we eat heavy food. My digestion stays light.
4. Detox and Glowing Skin
Turmeric cleans the blood and removes toxins. With fennel, it becomes a gentle detox. I noticed my skin looks more fresh and clear in winters, even when skin becomes dry.
5. Strong Immunity For Years
I am drinking this in every winter for many years. It has made my immunity strong. I get less seasonal cold and my body stays active. It is my personal winter secret.
My Method Which I Follow:

In Winters:
- 1 glass lukewarm water
- 1 pinch turmeric powder
- Half teaspoon fennel seeds (saunf)
Add turmeric and fennel seeds to the water and wait for 10 minutes. This waiting time is important because fennel seeds will release their effect into the water and the water will become balanced. After 10 minutes, mix well and drink slowly in the morning before breakfast.
In Summers:
I stop turmeric. I only drink simple plain water. Not too cold from fridge, not too hot. Just normal temperature water early morning. This keeps my body balanced.
My Note:
Turmeric is hot in nature, that is why I added fennel seeds to make it balanced. This routine is best for winters. Do not use too much turmeric, only a pinch is enough. This is my home habit from many years, not a medicine.
