The American business magazine Forbes publishes an annual list of billionaires—those whose net worth is $1 billion or more—called The World's Billionaires. March 1987 saw the initial publication of the list. Every person on the list has an estimated total net worth, expressed in US dollars, that is derived from their recorded assets after deducting debt and other considerations. These lists do not include tyrants or members of the royal family whose riches derives from their status. This ranking is an index of the wealthiest people who have been officially documented; it does not include any ranking of wealthy people whose wealth cannot be conclusively determined.

According to Forbes, Arnault has an estimated net worth of US$194 billion as of July 2024, making him the third richest person in the world.

Born on June 28, 1971, Elon Reeve Musk is a well-known businessman and investor who holds significant positions in SpaceX, a space firm, and Tesla, Inc., an automotive company. In addition, he was a founding member of The Boring Company, xAI, Neuralink, and OpenAI, and he owns X Corp., formerly Twitter. Forbes estimates his net worth to be US$221 billion as of July 2024, making him one of the richest persons in the world.
