In Siberia, scientists found something very special. They were digging in Denisova Cave. They found more than 2,000 old bone pieces. Most were unknown. One small bone was only a little bigger than one inch. This tiny bone became very important.

The small bone stayed in storage for four years. At first, people thought it was not important. Then, in 2016, a protein test showed it was human. This was big news for scientists who study human evolution. The bone helped us learn about our old family history.
