Pasta is one of the most delicious, nutritious versatile, world’s favorite food. The word ‘pasta’ actually has its origins in Greek and Latin and literally means “barley porridge” in Greek, and “dough pastry cake” in Latin. In Italian, however, the word means “paste” due to the way pasta is made, primarily by mixing water and flour along with other ingredients, such as eggs and olive oil. You can enjoy pasta as a main course, or as a side dish.  pasta itself a health beneficial and nutritious food, when  pasta is mixed with other healthy ingredients like olive oil, vegetables, bean, fish, or meat. A delicious pasta meal when eaten in healthy portions can be part of a successful weight loss plan. Pasta is high in carbohydrates. These carbohydrates in pasta increase the body’s production of serotonin, the neurotransmitter that scientists believe trigger feelings of happiness and well-being.

World pasta day History

There are many different stories about the beginnings of pasta. A popular story is that the explorer Marco Polo was introduced to noodles during his travels in China, and that he brought the recipe back to Italy in 1292. We typically think of pasta as being invented in Italy. Many historians now believe that pasta was in Italy well before Marco Polo traveled to China; although, he may have given pasta its name. Thomas Jefferson helped make pasta popular in America. While he was traveling to Italy, he fell in love with a macaroni dish he had. When he came back to the United States, he returned with crates of pasta.

World Pasta Day is celebrated on the 25th of October in 1995. Experts from all over the world came together to discuss the glories of the noodle, with particular emphasis on the importance of spreading knowledge of the world’s panorama of pasta. This organization uses World Pasta Day to promote the eating of pasta. One of the best ways to celebrate World Pasta Day is by preparing a favorite dish and enjoying the delicious flavors.

There are two main categories of pasta: fresh and dried. Both are made from durum wheat flour. Fresh pasta is made of flour and water or eggs, then cooked and typically eaten right away. Dried pasta is made from flour and water and then dried to be stored and eaten later. According to the International Pasta Organization, there are more than 600 different shapes of pasta produced throughout the world. It’s amazing that one type of food can take on so many different shapes. 600 Different Shapes and those types have over 1300 different names. Some of the names certainly do not sound as good as pasta tastes.

·         Macaroni It is one of the most popular types of dry pasta available. Macaroni is usually shaped like narrow tubes, that resemble the shape of the letter “C”. However, depending on the manufacturer, it may come in different sizes and thicknesses     Fusilli / RotiniThis type of pasta is also called “Rotini” in the United States. It’s widely known for its peculiar corkscrew-shaped appearance. Moreover, it can be either solid or hollow. Moreover, the word “Penne” means quill, which this pasta so greatly resembles.   Vermicelli Pasta,These long strands of pasta are thinner than spaghetti but thicker than angel hair.   Spaghetti makes its grand entry on our list of different kinds of pasta! This delectable variety closely resembles noodles.   Farfalle.Farfalle has a lovely bowtie shape that is pleasing to the eyes. the literal meaning of farfalle is “Butterfly”.   Lasagna,Their shape is usually wide & flat, but some waved variations are also seen.   Fettuccini,This delicious pasta is shaped like a delicate ribbon. Many people get confused between linguine & fettuccini, but this pasta is a bit flatter & wider.    Angel’s hair,It’s even lighter and thinner than spaghetti! It’s named due to its fine, thin, and long appearance.  Rotelli is pasta that you will most often see in a kid’s bowl! It has a fun “wheel” shaped appearance. Furthermore, it’s fun and small-sized. This makes it easier for kids to eat and enjoy.Manicotti,These large-tube-shaped noodles are usually filled with cheese or meat filling and baked. The surface of the pasta can be either smooth or ridged. Shells pasta comes in many different sizes. Stuff large shells with cheese and bake, like you would with manicotti.
