World kindness day 2022

Kindness is a fundamental quality that maintains the balance in the world and makes it a beautiful place to live. Kindness is a key element to a successful, healthy, popular, and balanced life. Kindness in simple words, means to be good and compassionate to people around us. We can be kind by speaking politely, being supportive, helping people, having love, concern, tenderness, and respect for others, and motivating them. Islam encourages kindness and compassion towards everyone, no matter, one’s religion, status or color. There is an emphasis in the Quran to be kind to one’s parents and orphans. As per ancient Greek philosopher and scientist, Aristotle, kindness means “helpfulness towards someone in need, not in return for anything, nor for the advantage of the helper himself, but for that of the person helped”. As per American writer and humorist, Mark Twain, “Kindness is the language which the dumb can speak, the deaf can hear & the blind can see.” As per Talmud, the central text of Rabbinic Judaism, “deeds of kindness are equal in weight to all the commandments.” “Kindness is giving hope to those who think they are all alone in this world.” “Kindness is seeing the best in others when they cannot see it in themselves.” “Kindness is something anyone can give without losing anything themselves.” “Kindness is not what you do, but who you are.” Kindness should be the first base of character building in any person. Kind people are rare. Kind people support others when they have a problem and don’t hurt anyone. They understand and value each other’s feelings and emotions. Very few people in this world are blessed with this quality and their presence is a blessing for those around them. If God has been kind enough to give you a good life, you must be kind enough to help those around you build a good life too. Even nature has its own way of showing kindness. For instance, the trees grow fruits for us and provide us with shade. If God has made you physically abled, then help those who aren’t. For instance, you can help a blind person cross the road or carry the grocery bag home for the old lady who lives in your neighborhood. If you can take out some time from your schedule, then get involved in social service. You can begin by providing basic education to the poor little children around your house who cannot afford to study in school. These are small examples of how you can spread kindness. Not just with human beings, we must also be kind towards animals. Treating the animals appropriately and feeding them are two of the ways to show kindness towards them. If you have enough space on your balcony or garden, then hang bird feeder and keep a bowl of water filled for the birds. These small and random acts of kindness will not only do good to these birds and animals but will also make you feel better about yourself.  Everyone admires compassionate and kind people. Imagine if each one of us inculcates this quality and is kind to everyone around, this world will become a much better place to live.

World kindness day 2022

World Kindness Day is celebrated each year on November 13th. World Kindness Day was first introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. World Kindness Day was first introduced as a day of observation by the World Kindness Movement. No matter what you decide to do, your act of kindness will unite you with others dedicated to changing the world one kind act at a time. World Kindness Day is a great day to begin building a new routine which means including intentional moments of kindness, laughter and delight.

Importance Of Kindness

Kindness is an important virtue. To be a good human, we must be a kind person first. One cannot be a good person without being kind. Kindness is important to make this world and our society better. Even for our growth, kindness is important. We help each other because we care for each other. It is our kindness that makes us compassionate towards our family, friends, and strangers too. Being kind is important to nurture our environment too. We can care for nature and animals only when we are kind. In this fast-paced world, most people only think about their well-being. That makes them selfish or bad towards others. Therefore, kindness is crucial to ensure the world retains its humanity. When we do a kind deed for someone, say some encouraging words or care for them, they feel good. Then when they see someone in trouble, they do the same for them. Thus, a chain of good deeds is formed. This brings a positive change to people and the world. So, kindness is important to make the world a better place for us and our coming generations.

Benefits and facts of kindness

Kindness Makes us Happier

Acts of kindness can make the world a happier place for everyone. They can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness, and optimism. Research shows that acts of kindness are linked to increased feelings of well-being. Helping others can also improve our support networks and encourage us to be more active. This, in turn, can improve our self-esteem. There is some evidence to suggest that when we help others, it can promote changes in the brain that are linked with happiness.

Kindness Is Good for the Heart

Acts of kindness are often accompanied by emotional warmth. Emotional warmth produces the hormone, oxytocin, in the brain and throughout the body. Of recent interest is its significant role in the cardiovascular system. The key is that acts kindness can produce oxytocin and therefore kindness can be said to be cardioprotective.

 Kindness Slows Ageing

remarkable research now shows that oxytocin (that we produce through emotional warmth) reduces levels of free radicals and inflammation in the cardiovascular system and so slows ageing at source

 Kindness Improves Relationships

Kindness reduces the emotional distance between two people and so we feel more ‘bonded’. It creates a sense of belonging and reduces isolation. Helping others is thought to be one of the ways that people create, maintain, and strengthen their social connections. For example, volunteering and helping others can help us feel a sense of belonging, make new friends, and connect with our communities.

kindness helps to keep things in perspective

Many of us don’t realize the effect a different perspective can have on our outlook on life. There    is some evidence that being aware of our own acts of kindness, as well as the things we are grateful for, can increase feelings of happiness, optimism, and satisfaction. Doing good may also help us to have a more positive outlook on our own circumstances.

 Kindness supports the immune system

Research shows that kindness (due to how it feels when your kind) boosts levels of an important immune system antibody known as ‘secretory immunoglobulin A’ (s-IgA for short). One of the most amazing facts of this research is that the effect is turned on simply by watching kindness. Yes, ‘watching’ kindness. It works because the immune boosting effect is due to how kindness feels, which is the same whether you do kindness or witness kindness.

 Kindness supports mental health

Lots of research shows that kindness increases happiness. Studies that compare people asked to do more kindness versus people acting as normal show that those doing more kindness usually feel happier consequently. Other research shows that kindness offers some protection against depression.
